Audio Visual
A Sonos digital music system, with several thousand play-tracks sorted into a wide variety of genres, can be controlled remotely from anywhere within the villa. Different tracks or play-lists can be played in the pool pavilion, dining room, sitting room, library and games room or gym. iPods can also be connected to the Sonos system and iPod docks and speakers are provided in all the bedrooms. The library has a 50-inch, wall mounted flat screen TV and DVD player with more than 50 satellite channels. Two additional flat-screen TVs can be found in the gym and the twin bedroom.
Communications
Phones are situated in all bedrooms and living areas at Bendega Villa. An in-house phone system allows guests to make calls to other areas of the villa, including to the manager’s office or kitchen, and all phones can make IDD calls which are charged at cost.
A laptop computer and printer are available to guests in the study and a further printer and facsimile machine can be found in the villa manager’s office. WiFi internet facilities are available throughout the villa and gardens should guests wish to use their own laptops.
Other Facilities
- Air conditioning is available in all bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as in the kitchen, dining room, gym (which can also be fan cooled), library and games room. The sitting area and pool pavilion are cooled with overhead fans.
- All bedrooms contain safety deposit boxes.
- Laundry needs will be attended to by villa staff (using a local laundry service)
- 2 mountain bikes are available at the villa for guest use.
- A gas barbecue is available.
- Baby cot and high chair can be provided if required
- Parking space is available within the villa compound for self-drivers.
- The villa has 100% generator backup in case of power failure.
Wine & Dine
One of the great benefits of renting a villa is the option to relax and enjoy delicious food – Asian and Western – prepared where and when they like. Bendega Villa has a full-time chef trained who loves to delight villa guests with his beautifully presented dishes – from roasted vegetable salads, to Balinese chicken curry, to nasi goreng (fried rice), to steak and chips. His deserts are not to be missed either – or his home-made jams and chutneys. He is happy to try out new dishes and even to share his kitchen with guests – especially if they can show him how to prepare their favourite dishes.
Daily breakfast is included in the villa rate and a range of menu suggestions are available at the villa for lunch and dinner. Alternatively, menus can be designed in consultation with the chef and villa manager. In this case, food and other supplies will be purchased by the chef and charged to guests at cost plus a provisioning fee with receipts will be provided either daily or at the end of your stay. Please remember to discuss meals in advance (ideally 24 hours) to allow the chef the time he needs to purchase and prepare for you.
Wine, beer, spirits and soft drinks are also available on request and will be charged for at the end of your stay.
In The Area
Over the past few years a number of new casual bars and restaurants have opened within waling distance or a short car ride from the villa.
The legendary Beach House at Echo Beach is a 5 minute drive, or a 10 minute walk along the beach from the villa. This is a great place in the evenings for watching the legendary sunsets. The restaurant has a large eating area that spills out onto a beachside bluff offering a casual international menu, and at weekends has a daily seafood barbecue.
The grandly named Deus Temple of Enthusiasm Canggu, serves a wide range of Asian food with cold beer in a combination art gallery clothing store cum motorcycle repair shop with a 5 minute walk from the villa. There are also several smaller restaurants serving Asian cuisine within walking distance, including one at the Ametis villas that serves only organic produce.
